Location

Pelekas , Pelekas, Greece

Pelekas village located on the west coast of the island is a typical Greek village 15km away from Corfu Town. Pelekas with its churches, beautiful small alleys and friendly atmosphere has remained unblemished by mass tourism and preserves its originality. The village was built on the slope of a hill of 270 m, where you will find the remains of the famous throne of Kaiser Wilhelm II.

One of the sights for which Pelekas is known, the Kaiser’s Throne, is located at the top of the hill, from where you can enjoy a magnificent sunset and breathtaking views of the island. The village is also known for its four beaches, Myrtiotissa, Glyfada, Pelekas and Gialiskari, which are among the most beautiful in Corfu. For many years in the 1980s the village was very well known as a hippy resort, particularly popular among young travellers who came from all over the world, and remains famous as such, with many of those “young” travellers returning to this day.

In the village you can find a number of bars, restaurants, rooms to let, a mini market, tourist shops, a bakery, a travel agency, car & motorbike rental, as well as various other services.

The region is ideally suited for exploration. Various outdoor activities include visits to small-scale producers of local products, vineyards, alternative forms of tourism, walking trails, water sports, small nudist beaches, paragliding, horse riding, golf, churches and monasteries, folk museums, concerts, traditional dance & music groups and many other interesting things to see and do..
